Margaret gave her time and was always present to help with fund raising events, attending meetings, social events and also many other events connected with the Royal British Legion.

She was awarded her long-service badge for 25 years service to the British Legion and later a certificate for 50 years.

Marie Bassett, the present chairman, on behalf of all members of the Women's Section, said Margaret would be greatly missed by all the members.

'She was a great and dear friend to us all. The Legion has lost a truly great member,' she said.

The funeral was held on January 17.
