A member of the property team for Nandos said: “We may be looking there but nothing has been signed off at the moment.”
A planning application for the site has been submitted, seeking permission to convert the exisiting drive-through canopy into internal space and reconfigure the unit to create two ‘Class A3 pod units’.
The refurbishment, according to a Burger King employee, had originally been planned for September - with some now reporting that is when it will reopen.
Posting on Facebook, Julie Poynting said: “I thought the word on the street was it was going to be split half BK and half Nandos??”
She added: “But having said that everytime a shop closes someone says it is going to be Nandos.”
Christine Bidwell took to the Bognor Regis Forum on May 5 to reveal the news, citing a member of staff as her source.
Response was split between supportive and concern that the carpark wouldn’t be big enough to cope.
Both Burger King and Nandos were contacted for comment last Monday but neither had replied at time of publication.
