Rustington and Arundel solicitors raise charity cash

SOLICITORS in Rustington and Arundel have managed to raise a hefty sum for charity with an ingenious fund-raising idea.

Partners and employees at Green Wright Chalton Annis Solicitors, in The Street, Rustington, and Tarrant Street, Arundel, have drummed up an impressive £7,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The firm joined forces with the charity to offer a free will-writing service, in May. New clients were given the opportunity to make a £100 or £150 donation to the charity in return for having their will written or updated.

This week saw most of the money from the initiative collected and handed over to Macmillan.

Elise Mason, partner at the firm, said: “The scheme proved to be really popular. I never thought it would have such a great response.

“We worked our socks off during May to help and we’re just delighted to be able to support this brilliant charity.

“Macmillan provides essential help to people affected by cancer both nationally and in our own community, so it’s really nice to see the community rallying behind us, in such a positive fashion.”

Mandy Kendall from Macmillan said: “We are so grateful to both Green Wright Chalton Annis and all the clients who contributed to raise this fantastic amount. The money raised will help Macmillan fund further local services and help even more people living with cancer.”
