Rustington care home celebrates 20th anniversary

RELATIVES, residents and the care team at Darlington Court care home in Rustington helped celebrate its 20th anniversary.

There was a fabulous 1920s movie theme for the event on Tuesday, September 29.

Celebrations began with afternoon tea in the dining room at the home, in The Leas, Rustington, when guests tucked into cream tea, traditional scones and sandwiches.

Julie Bartholomew, customer relations manager at Care UK, said: “There was live entertainment from the girls at Party Time Productions, who sang, danced and told the stories of The Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland and American actress and singer Doris Day.

“The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were all singing along.”

Care UK managing director Andrew Knight joined in the celebrations and presented 20-year long service awards to registered nurse Sally Munn and carer Sue Tipler.

Resident Peter Liles also received a 20-year award from Mr Knight, as well as a red Ferrari remote control car.

Later on in the day, a buffet-style dinner was served, which was enjoyed by all the guests.
