Rustington jobs secure after Swiss takeover

ALMOST 60 Rustington jobs are secure in the midst of a multi-million pound takeover.

JS Humidifiers, in Artex Avenue, has been acquired by Swiss climate and manufacturing technology group, Walter Meier, for an undisclosed sum, thought to be in the millions.

The company has confirmed that all staff will be kept on, that the current management team will continue to run the operation, and that its headquarters and factory would stay in the village.

Managing director at JS, Stephen Verney, said: “Links with Walter Meier go back many years and we’re looking forward to the opportunities that being part of a global group will bring.

“There is considerable synergy between our two businesses and the sharing of expertise will be of great benefit to our customers.“

Chief executive of Walter Meier, Silvan Meier, said that acquiring JS was the most effective way for the group to develop its UK market.

“We have always known that JS held the key to us becoming better established in the British humidification sector.
