Rustington’s Kerry is ‘taken out’ by comic Paddy McGuinness

Kerry Strong, who lives in Rustington and runs the Slimming World group at the Tamarisk Centre, in Beach Road, was plucked from the crowd to meet television presenter and stand-up comic Paddy McGuinness.

And although Kerry is used to having plenty of laughs at her slimming club, she was not quite prepared to met the comedian – who is better known for being the host of the ITV dating show, Take Me Out.

However, although their meeting was a brief one, it certainly was not a case of ‘no likey, no lighty’ for the pair, with Paddy praising Kerry for all her hard work helping people in the Littlehampton area lose weight. He explained consultants like Kerry were ‘invaluable’ when it came to supporting those struggling to drop the pounds.

Bolton-born Paddy added: “Before I started working in comedy, I was a fitness instructor, so I know how important it is to look after yourself. But, equally, I know it’s not always easy to motivate yourself.

“So, having the help and support of someone like Kerry to keep you on track and be there with advice when you need it really is invaluable.”

The meeting between the pair took place at the Slimming World annual awards ceremony, in Birmingham.

Kerry, 36, described the get together with the celebrity as the ‘icing on the cake’ of an incredible year.
