Rye and Battleis promoted atLondon station

THE Rye and Battle area was promoted as a prime destination when the 1066 Marketing team set up stall at London’s Charing Cross Station.

Jane Ellis and Kevin Boorman spent the day on the concourse promoting the area as part of the London terminal’s 150th anniversary.

Kevin, manager of 1066 Country Marketing, said: “1066 Country is a really popular destination for people travelling from London, both for London residents and visitors staying in the capital but looking to explore further.

“ So this was a great opportunity to promote the area, and to remind prospective visitors that the line is fully open again.

“We enjoy good relations with the rail industry, and are very grateful to Network Rail and southeastern for allowing us to work at Charing Cross .

“ It was great that we were able to play our part in the station’s celebrations and promote 1066 Country right in the heart of London too.”

Passengers travelling to London over Easter still face some disruption due to no direct services to Charing Cross because of major works to London Bridge Station.
