Rye Arts Festival in full swing

Opening highlights included a concert by folk-rock outfit Plainsong, featuring Fairport Convention founding member Iain Matthews, and a show-case performance by youngsters from Rye Dance School.

The amazing contraption of The Little Cauliflower Machine, three metres high and powered by bicycles, turned heads when it took to the streets on Saturday.

There is still plenty to see and do as the festival enters into its second week this weekend.

Jazz legend Courtney Pine will be playing baritone sax at Rye College tonight (Friday), while the ever popular Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain make their fourth return to Rye when they take to the College stage on Saturday evening.

Peter Mackenzie Smith leads a walk through Word War II Rye on Saturday morning.

The brass ensemble Perfect Fifth performs at Iden Church on Sunday evening.

The festival has a new venue this year at Tilling Green Community Centre and top U.S. bluesman Catfish Keith

will be performing there on Thursday evening.

There is also a screening of the classic David Lean film A Passage to India at Rye Community Centre on Thursday evening.
