“What better way to warm up than coming into Rye during December to join the Christmas festivities.

There are special events going on in Rye on the three Saturdays during December. A necessary change from the original plans means the procession will now take place on December 6 at 4pm.”

As an added incentive Rother District Council is waiving fees in its car parks in Rye on Saturdays December 6, 13 and 20.

The fun starts on December 6 when a Childrens’ Christmas Trail opens at Rye Tourist Information Centre.

Late night Christmas Shopping takes place from 5pm onward.

On Saturday December 13, there will be street entertainment throughout the day while Father Christmas arrives at Strand Quay at 3.30pm, and later takes up residence in his grotto at Rye Museum from 5pm.

The fun continues on Saturday December 20 with street entertainment throughout the day and a special Christmas Market taking place at Strand Quay. Visit www.ryechristmas.org.uk for up to date information.
