Rye Lions help hospice

RYE and District Lions Club have raised funds for two local hospices.

They have donated £2,300 to St. Michael’s Hospice with money raised by their fund-raising activities.

Due to their expanded area, which now goes into Kent as far as Hawkhurst, they have also donated £150 to The Hospice in the Weald, at the request of the pubs in the Hawkhurst area that raised money, as that Hospice is the one that covers their part of Kent.

Rye lions are hoping to raise more money for worthy causes, local, national and international at forthcoming fetes in the area. Their stall will be on site at Icklesham Fete on Saturday and Northiam Fete on August 13.

Their mascot, Leo the Lion, will be at these to amuse the children and for their parents to take photos of them with Leo.
