Rye schoolboy features inBBC Casualty programme

THIRTEEN year old Rye College student Ollie Steer landed himself a central role in the BBC hospital drama Casualty.

The epsiode, which is broadcast on Saturday evening (May 3) revolves around the boy Ollie plays and his fictional family.

This is nothing new for Ollie though who has been professionally acting since he was six.

He has appeared in many television adverts, including one for KFC.

Film roles have included parts in Nanny Mcphee and the Big Bang.

Speaking of his latest role, mum Lizi said: “He had to go to Cardiff on and off for three weeks to film the episode and loved every minute of it.

“Everyone on set was really kind and it was great meeting all the cast.

“Ollie is involved with drama at Rye College and it is one of his chosen GCSE’s, the school have been very supportive and always allow him time off when needed for auditions and filming.”

Acting runs in the family Ollie’s younger brother Oscar, who is due to start at the school in September, had one of the lead roles in Nanny Mcphee and the Big Bang, and also appeared in the hit movie Nativity! He also has just finished filming another TV show.

“Ollie’s little sister Lottie, aged nine, will be on the big screen this year in Paddington Bear the movie, and the new movie with Tom Hardy “ Child 44.

She has also been in the movie Les Miserable and TV show Game of Thrones.

Ollie and his parents would like to thank Rye College and especially Mrs Wall head of Drama for all their support with Ollie’s acting.
