Rye team conquer half marathon in style
A DEDICATED team from Rye Town Amateur Boxing Club took part in what is said to be the hardest half marathon in England, the Hastings half marathon.
Not content with taking on the gruelling course, the team went a step further and Ran the marathon by way of a military style stretcher race, carrying 40kg in sand bags on the stretcher. The team completed the course in an incredible time of 2hrs and 16min.
Head coach Carl Turner said: “I am highly impressed with the spirit, team work and strength the team showed on the day. It was fantastic running the stretcher with such a strong, committed team. Well done all.”
