SAD PROCESSION TO VILLAGE CHURCH

He died when a fireworks factory exploded at Shortgate, between Ringmer and Halland on December 3.

The funeral cortege will leave his home in Cuckmere Rise and travel along Heathfield High Street and past the fire station before making its way to Mayfield.

Mr Wicker's family and friends, staff from the fire and rescue service's mobilising and communications centre, and local crews from Heathfield and Mayfield are due to gather in St Dunstan's church.

A private family service is being held later.

Colleagues who were working alongside Mr Wicker at the fireworks factory are to line Mayfield High Street to pay their respects.
