Safer cycling event for Rother

POLICE have joined forces with other agencies to hold a Rother Cycle Day’ at Ravenside Retail Park, Bexhill, between 10am and 2pm on Saturday May 10.

The free event will be active and open to members of the public who can come along and join in with the fun.

Free cycle training taster sessions will be provided by nationally accredited instructors and we will also be offering bicycle maintenance tips, crime prevention advice, cycle-related freebies and more.

John Owen of East Sussex Fire and Rescue says: “The focus of the event is to provide practical advice to cyclists on how be safer on the roads in the Rother area.”

The local emergency services will also be participating in a charity cycling challenge in support of raising money for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust in a ‘friendly’ competition of endurance between the police, fire and ambulance services.
