The Western Road, Brighton, branch has nominated Dogs Trust as its chosen charity and to set the ball rolling, staff supplied the Shoreham centre with food and treats.

They paid a visit to the rehoming centre, in Brighton Road, to drop of treats worth £200 for the centre’s four-legged friends to enjoy. A cheque for £500 was also handed over, to go towards caring for the hounds as they await a new home.

Rehoming centre manager Tracey Rae said it was an ‘incredibly generous donation’.

“Dogs Trust relies solely on donations from the public,so we were thrilled to receive these contributions to the rehoming centre,” she added.

“I know that both the food and funds we received will go a long way towards helping the dogs in our care.”

The centre made an urgent appeal last month for donations of dog treats to aid behaviour training and development.

Medium-sized dog coats are also needed, to keep the animals warm on their daily walks.
