Sainsbury's leads the charge for Red Nose Day laughter

RED Nose Day is back on March 18 - and Sainsbury's Bexhill is already gearing up for some comic relief.

Staff are planning to dress up the theme of the comedy show Little Britain on the day while holding a cake sale.

For the second year running, customers can make a donation to Red Nose Day as they shop through the ‘charity rounding’ initiative, which lets customers round up their bill at the checkout.

Official Red Nose Day merchandise is now on sale at the store, including two new products - The Runny Nose and The Nose That Grows.

Store manager Dave Hunt said: “We’re already starting to plan our fundraising activities, and we’re really looking forward to our first fundraiser on March 18.

“We hope our customers will enjoy and support the events we have planned, which we’ll be revealing soon.”

To date, Sainsbury’s nationally has helped to raise over £48 million for Comic Relief since the partnership began in 1999. This year, Sainsbury’s hopes to raise over £9 million for Red Nose Day.
