Heidi Carlsen had just touched down at the airport when she was told Battle Beauty in Old Ladies Court had been raided, with all the nail polish and skincare taken by thieves.

Heidi said: “It was a bit of a shock to hear that Battle Beauty had been burgled. I had just arrived in Copenhagen and turned on my mobile to find a message from my therapist Debbie Bradbury to call her.”

A member of the public contacted police after spotting the front door was open.

Heidi said: “A crowbar had been used to force open the door and the thieves helped themselves to all our OPI nail polishes and the Dermalogica products on sale to our clients on the shelves and in the drawers in the front office.”

Thieves also stole £60 cash.

Heidi said: “I am very upset and distressed that this could happen in Battle.

“Though I, of course, have insurance to cover the stock and the damage to the entrance, I will experience a financial loss due to the float and cash being stolen, on top of the insurance excess.

“As a small business owner I operate with tight margins so this will have implications.

“I am hugely grateful for the kind words received from fellow Battle business owners and Battle Beauty clients.

“Anyone being offered Dermalogica or OPI products should consider whether they have been obtained legally.”

The break in happened between 4.15pm on Saturday June 13 and 10.20am on Sunday June 14. Witnesses can call police on 101.
