Cats and staff alike will be getting into the festive spirit at Cats Protection’s National Cat Centre with a fantastic line-up of Christmas events.
The charity, in Lewes Road, Chelwood Gate, will be holding its Santa Grotto Day on Sunday, December 7, from 12pm – 2pm.
There will be a winter wonderland of fun activities including facepainting, stalls, a raffle and the chance for children to visit Santa in his grotto for just £3.
Entry is free, but a tin of cat food would be a greatly-appreciated early Christmas gift for the cats currently in the care of the centre.
Other festive events at the centre include an extended shopping day on Wednesday, December 10, where cat-lovers can stock up on Christmas gifts from 9am–6pm.
Shoppers will be able to enjoy mulled wine and mince pies as they browse the centre’s gift shop, with a great range of gifts for friends, family and felines alike.
There will be more fun for children on Tuesday, December 23, from 10am until 12.30pm when the centre will be hosting a Christmas Craft Morning. Tickets cost £5 per child and activities will include making cookie tree decorations, Christmas cards and cat toys. Children must be accompanied by an adult and places can be booked by calling 01825 741 370.
Cats Protection’s National Cat Centre is open seven days a week and is a great free day out whatever the weather.
Situated in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, visitors can stroll around the tranquil Nature Trail, with its secret fairy ring and flock of Hebridean sheep.
As well as a shop and cafe with children’s play area, visitors can meet some of the many cats currently looking for a new owner at the National Cat Adoption Centre.
