SASBAH fundraiser at Battle Abbey

Chairman of Rother District Council Joanne Gadd hosted a fundraising dinner at Battle Abbey.

The formal event was attended by Bill Shelford, current High Sheriff for East Sussex, and his wife Annette, as well as the Mayors of Hastings and Battle, and was Councillor Gadd's final opportunity to raise money for Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus before her year in office comes to an end.

The evening included a patriotic quiz about St George and also the Battle of Hastings.

She commented: "I thought it was very successful - everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a super time and it was a delight to have the High Sheriff there. It was such a wonderful venue and everyone was most generous with the raffle and auction. I stand down as chairman on May 18 but I am going to remain a strong supporter of SASBAH."
