The Sloop: There were 32 customers for Burn’s Night. Firstly thanks go to Louise Hawes who, in all of her Scottish glory, addressed the Haggis and produced lots of Scottish flags and tartan. Nick Hawes is next to thank for his wonderfully presented ‘Immortal Memory’ poem which he wrote himself in the style of a Burn’s poem and was all about the year of 2016. Lastly, thanks go to Mike Lavelle who piped in the Haggis to Scotland the Brave and Callum Murray who said the Selkirk Grace. The chefs made their own Haggis which was notably quoted by Nick Hawes (a man who has eaten a lot of Haggis in his life) as being the best Haggis that he’d ever eaten.
