Vicki Ireland, from Buckswood school, said: “Many families believe the cost of private education is too much for them, this competition hopes to make people aware that Buckswood school supports and nutures talent wherever it lies.

“We offer scholarships in Academics, Music, Sports, Drama, Performing Arts, Equestrian and an All Rounder where you can combine Academics with another discipline. We have an annual fund of £500,000 to help towards fees and through that fund can offer up to a 50% subsidy.

“So many people are scared to look into the cost of private education, but at Buckswood we do what we can to help parents who are worried about unexecpected extra costs. We have a book deposit for materials, a competitively priced bus service and offer an exceptional education experience on an inspiringly beautiful site.”

For the past three years all students at Buckswood have been given their very own personal Kindle to keep at home and use to embrace new technology and enjoy the great literature of the past.

Buckswood Form 4 student Charles Pomfret commented “When I was a junior, the kindles really helped me read books I thought would be boring. They weren’t, and by form two I’d read loads of books I didn’t think I’d be able to.”

If you have a child in year 5 or 6 and you haven’t received an entry form to win your own Kindle Fire from your school, ask your school office to get involved and give Buckswood school a ring on 01424 813813.

The competition will be drawn at the school’s next Open Day on Saturday 17th November at 10am.
