School closures: March 26
A NUMBER of schools in the Rye and Battle area are closed today (Wednesday) because of the national teachers’ strike.
Burwash, Crowhurst, Northiam, St Thomas’ in Winchelsea and Staplecross primary schools are closed to all pupils.
Claverham Community College in Battle is closed to Year 10 only, Robertsbridge Community College is closed to all years except Year 11, Salehurst Primary School is closed to all pupils except Year 6 pupils who are on a school trip.
Brede Primary School is also partially closed today.
Teachers belonging to the National Union of Teachers are striking over pay and conditions.
