School could hit the milestone number for attempt

If a Bognor Regis school is the 1,000th to register for SignHealth’s Guinness World Record attempt, sign2sing, it could win classroom resources.

Rowena Dean, head of marketing and communications at SignHealth, the national healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “690 hearing and deaf schools have already signed up for sign2sing, which takes place next February and we’re hoping more than 1,000 will take part, so we’re on a mission to register more schools in the next few months.

“The 1,000th school to sign up will win Sign with Olli classroom resources and it could be one in the area, so we’re hoping Bognor Regis teachers get involved to be in with a chance to receive the prizes.

“We will also be hosting monthly prize draws up to the event for registered schools to win the Learn to Sign with Olli books.”

Sign2sing is a world record breaking attempt for the most people signing and singing a song at the same time.

Earlier this year 114,227 youngsters took part in sign2sing 2012 and smashed the record.

The previous record, which the charity also set, was 94,489.

The attempt will take place at 2.45pm on February 6.
