School scoops eco award

FOLLOWING its recent Healthy Schools Award, a primary school in Rustington has now gained the Eco-Schools Bronze Award.

Pupils and staff at Summerlea Community Primary School have been encouraged to take greater responsibility for the environment of the school and to develop an increased sense of responsibility for their surroundings.

Assistant headteacher, Jane Blackman said: "This is a very exciting achievement for all members of our school community and is the result of a significant effort on the part of our dedicated Eco-Schools team."
