Schools Book Talk

Six St Richard's pupils from Years 7 and 8 attended a Book Talk Morning organised by the East Sussex Schools Library Service.

After a welcoming speech, all nine participating schools took part in a Book Quiz. There was a number of different rounds based on recent books, one of which was about the works of Philip Reeve, the guest author. The St Richard's team came first in the quiz and their prize was a signed copy of 'Fevercrumb' by Philip Reeve for the college library.

The quiz was followed by a talk given by Philip Reeve and a question and answer session. Ruth Cassidy, one of the St Richard's pupils, wrote in a review of the morning: "I am a fan of Philip Reeve and I was not disappointed. As we had won the quiz, we had our photograph taken with Philip Reeve and our books signed first. His talk was interesting and gave me many new ideas about the life of an author. It was a brilliant morning, which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone if given the chance."
