Scout car wash

Even the filthiest motor was no match for the enthusiasm of scouts, cubs and beavers taking part in a car wash at Bexhill Community Fire Station this weekend.

An energetic group from 1st Little Common pack put plenty of muscle into washing a steady stream of cars to raise funds for their activities this year.

Akela Barbara Evans said: "This is something they have done for years - we did it last year as well. We try to do lots of things to get funds for our group, and this is one of them. And this goes towards their Community Challenge as well.

"They love doing it.

"When I started two years ago I had about nine or ten boys, but now there are 24 who come on a regular basis, and the same has happened with the scout group and the beavers' group which have also grown, so we are doing well. But funds are hard to come by, obviously, so anything we can do, we do do. They love doing this - and they get wet too."
