Winning team ‘The Woodpigeons’ raced along the South Downs Way from Chantry Hill to Falmer: approximately 30 miles. They completed it in a course record time of 6 hours 3 minutes: an impressive 25 minutes ahead of 2nd place. The Scouts themselves had meticulously planned a target time of 6hrs and then pretty well stuck to their schedule, a superb result when considering the torrential rain showers on the day. Leaders from the 1st and 10th Haywards Heath also enjoyed success. Charlotte Polehill, Richard Peers and Chris Searle hiked 60 miles from Bignor Hill to Eastbourne to claim first place in Class A.
