Scouts Fiesta Day

The 4th Uckfield Scout Group is hosting the fundraising day at Luxford Field, Uckfield.

A variety of exciting activities are taking place which will raise funds for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Ray Wiltshire, chairman, said: 'We have a very successful troop in Uckfield and this is always a very enjoyable day.

'We have made it a packed afternoon with lots going on and the usual stalls and games being run by the Scouts and Cubs.'

Mr Wiltshire said the day was vital for keeping the costs of scouting down for the boys and girls.

He added: 'It's always a lot of fun and ends with the traditional 'gunging' of personalities from the town.

'This year it will either be the head of Uckfield Community Technology College (UCTC) or some of the senior teachers.'

The timetable is as follows:

1.30pm Event opened by Uckfield FM followed by 4th Uckfield Band

1.45pm Beavers and cubs assault courses

2pm Kicks Karate

2pm In-step majorettes

2pm Band 2nd session

3pm Debs dancers

3.30pm Tent pitching contest or other scouting challenge

3.45pm Tug of war

4pm Gunging of UCTC Teachers (or Head)

4.15pm Raffle draw
