"Scruffy" purse thief hunted by police

POLICE are seeking a 40 year-old man following a purse snatch in Sainsbury's store last Wednesday evening. The purse was taken from a shopper's bag at about 7.30pm. The suspect is said to be white, about 40, with short, dark, hair and was wearing "scruffy" clothes.

TWO cycles were stolen from the conservatory of an Edinburgh Road property between last Monday and last Tuesday. They were a ladies' Aqua Apollo mountain bike with black off-road mudguards an a blue Claude Butler mountain bike.

THREE youths were seen breaking into a white Nissan Micra in Cumberland Road, Sidley, at about 5.15am last Thursday. Police said one was wearing a dark hooded top.

TWO 19 inch computer monitors and three laptops were stolen when an office in Cooden Sea Road, Little Common was burgled between 5.30pm last Wednesday and 8.45am last Thursday.

VANDALS removed around 80 bottles of milk from outside the Coop store in Seabourne Road, Pebsham, last Thursday morning and poured the contents over cars parked nearby. Police appealing for witnesses to contact Bexhill police station on 0845 607099 say: "Did you see who committed this wasteful and pointless act?"
