SEAFORD Town Councillor Adrian Campbell has raised around £400 for Waves after running the Berlin Marathon.

He completed the 26-mile race in 3hrs 0 mins and 11 seconds on September 25 – a personal best.

WAVES Family Support Service is the Mayor’s chosen charity and is based in Seaford.

It helps families in Seaford who are vulnerable and isolated from the community, trying to relieve pressure, strengthen the family unit and try to prevent possible breakdowns.

Adrian, 42, who is a Seaford Striders member, has now run six marathons and plans to do New York and Paris next.

He started off going to the training nights, graduated to 10k races, followed by half marathons and now gets his teeth into the 26 mile courses.

Adrian said: “It went really well. The temperature was quite cool because we started at 9am. Everything went to plan and it was a new personal best for me.”
