A man from Seaford has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an incident in a Brighton public toilets on Sunday March 23.
The victim, a 49-year-old woman, was sleeping in the Pavilion Garden disabled toilet at around 9am when she was subjected to the assault.
Detective Sergeant Cheryl Lewendon from Brighton CID said: “We believe there were a number of people in the vicinity of the toilets around that time and we would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any other information about it.

A 49-year-old man from Seaford was arrested on Saturday (March 29) on suspicion of rape. He was later bailed until May 28.
