A Seaford pub was reopened by the town’s mayor this week after a major £250,000 investment.
The unveiling of the much-anticipated renovation at The Old Plough was made on Monday (February 29) by the Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Dave Argent, who joined the local town crier and the pub’s general managers Julie and Philip Wilkins in celebrating the reopening.
Philip, who first started behind the bar 20 years ago, said: “The renovations have completely transformed the pub.
“Customers have been blown away by how elegant and charming we now look, while keeping the original character.
“The team have been amazing having gone through weeks of training to ensure we’re ready for our totally new, freshly prepared, pub favourites food menu. Customers are going to love our new cocktail range as well.”
With five cask ales and two new craft ales - Meantime’s London Lager and Longhorn IPA - on tap alongside a vast wine menu and premium spirits, the pub is catering for it’s wide range of customers.
The promised freshly prepared classic pub food was on show with tasters throughout the evening and with Mother’s Day just around the corner, customers are being encouraged to book for the few spaces that are left.
“We can’t wait for the people of Seaford and surrounding areas to see how fabulous we look, and experience our new menu with specially selected dishes from Guest-Ale-Battered Cod and Chips to British Beef, Rioja and Chorizo Slow-Cooked Pie. It’s great to be taking the Old Plough into the next era.”
Opening Times: Mon-Thurs 10:00-00:00, Fri-Sat 10:00-00:00, Sun 11:00-23:00.
