Seaford Quakers will stage a peace vigil on Saturday November 9, the day before Remembrance Day.
It will take place in the Peace Garden, at Crouch Gardens just off East Street, from 11am to 11.30am.
Clerk of Seaford Quaker Meeting Joyce Bowley said: “We think it is important not just to remember those who died in past wars but also to commit ourselves to work for a more peaceful future.
“We shall be thinking about the current violence in Syria and Afghanistan and hoping, for the sake of the innocent victims, that there will soon be peace in those countries.”
Joyce added that all are welcome to attend the silent vigil.
Quakers have a long-standing commitment to peace and the use of dialogue and mediation to resolve conflicts.
