Seahaven District scouts are appealing for help to fund a trip for 20 scouts and five leaders to Canada in 2014.

It is part of a biannual exchange programme between scouts from Newhaven and Peacehaven and Kitchener-Waterloo District in Toronto.

The exchange has been running for more than 30 years and involves a camp, staying with a Canadian family, and in 2016 the Canadians return for a visit. They must raise £1,000 plus for the trip and the scouts have organised beetle drives and bag packing at Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s.

The scouts want to hear from organisations or individuals who can offer fundraising opportunities or raffle prizes.

Scout team leader Jane Jarvis said: “This is a unique opportunity for the scouts from Seahaven District to work and camp with Canadian scouts, form international friendships and experience new opportunities both as young people and scouts.” Call Jane on 07974 972049
