Members of the Heathfield Choral Society were a hit with residents, staff and guests when they sang carols at the Abbeyfield house Holdenhurst in Heathfield.
Chairman of the charity Abbeyfield South Downs, Michael Staff said: “The Heathfield Choral Society is a well-known local choir and regarded by many as one of the best choirs in the county.
“Congratulations to Brian Newman, their musical director, for giving our residents a wonderful start to the Festive Season.”
He added: “Thank you too to Holdenhurst house manager Rose and helpers who provided a superb buffet afterwards.”
Abbeyfield was founded to combat loneliness among older people by offering a balance of independence and support in sheltered housing that is affordable by all.
Holdenhurst in Mill Road, Heathfield, is just one of the houses run by Abbeyfield South Downs. There are others in Eastbourne, Hove and Hastings.

The Heathfield Choral Society regularly performs a wide repertoire of classical choral works, choruses and songs throughout Wealden.
Tomorrow they hold a workshop on Verdi’s Requiem with the Eastbourne Choral Society at Willingdon School.
Joint rehearsals take place in March and the final performance of the is at All Saints’ Church, Eastbourne on Saturday, March 24.
On May 19 the Society performs Songs from the Shows including music from The King and I, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera at the State Hall, Heathfield and Tosca on October 20 with South Downs Opera.
