Second Time Around presentation by Little Common Village flower club

A £4,000 charity presentation will be made by Little Common Village Flower Club on Friday November 28.

The event will take place at Little Common Community Centre at 2.15pm.

Member Virginia Marston said: "Cheques, each of 2,000, representing proceeds from the club's Second Time Around flower festival held at St Martha's church, Little Common, over the August Bank Holiday, will be given to representatives of CAFOD (Catholic Fund for Overseas Development), and Rachael's House, a project for providing a respite home in Eastbourne for terminally ill young people.

"The cheques will be presented to Father Chris Spain from St Martha's on behalf of CAFOD and to Jeanette Gilderdale from Rachael's House.

"Over 700 people came to see the festival which had as its theme recycling, an unusual subject for a flower festival. It called for a unique blend of ingenuity and artistry which surprised and delighted our often unsuspecting visitors,"
