SEDLESCOMBE'˜S GOT TALENT: Tonight's the night! Friday May 20 in the village hall, come and see a great line up of local talent. There are still tickets available at Sedlescombe stores for just £5 each or if you miss them there more tickets will be available on the door from 7pm with the evening starting at 7.30pm. A licensed bar and hot food will be available to purchase during the evening. Come along, encourage and enjoy some real local talent that will be competing for the £100 first prize along with runner up money prizes too. We are pleased to announce our three experienced judges for the event will be Mrs Paula Batt, former mayor of Battle, Rev. Kevin Mepham and a master of treading the boards himself , Malcolm Tegg. COME AND SEE “TOM JONES”: Sedlescombe Players present an 18th century bawdy romp! Henry Fielding’s ‘Tom Jones’ as adapted by Jan Macalpine, is described as one of the most perfect plots ever planned. Tickets are now on sale, the prices are, Tuesday June 14, £10 without supper. On Wednesday 15, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 are £16 including supper. There will be NO performance on Thursday 16. As usual, seating will be at tables of eight and the performances will be in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. SPRING FAYRE: The fayre last Saturday looked well attended with lots of activity around the Green and the Queens Head. Good weather, pipers and morris dancing along side the traditional stalls. Money was rasied for St Michaels Hospice Phoenix appeal, no information on the amount as yet but I hope to have that by next week. Well done to the organisers of the event, Ralph Dellow, Barry Bradbury and Reg Glew and I am sure their families too!

ST MICHAELS HOSPICE OPEN GARDENS 2016: This Tuesday May 24, King John’s Lodge, Sheepstreet Lane , Etchingham TN19 7AZ is open from 10.30am to 4pm in aid of the St Michaels Hospice. Entrance is just £4.00 which then gives you access to both. Refreshments will be on offer. Booklets, with details of all the gardens open in the surrounding area in aid of St Michaels hospice, are now on sale at the Sedlescombe Stores. The season has now started with gardens open every week until August with one additional garden open in October. A minimum donation of 50p is requested for the booklet. For all additional details please consult your booklet.

SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT FLOWER CLUB: The club had a good evening when NAFAS demonstrator Mandy Pulsford came to interpret “Once upon a time” last week. A reminder that the next club meeting on Wednesday June 8 is an imposed workshop evening when you will bring your own container and the club will supply the flowers, if you would like to take part and did not put your name down last week please could you contact Sheila on 01797223927or for any further club information, Janet on 01424 773708.
