SPRING FAYRE: This Saturday May 14, the Spring Fayre will be taking place on the village green and Queens Head garden between 1 and 4pm. Entrance is free. Raffle tickets are on sale in the village shop £ 2.50 for five tickets. There will be many varied stalls and lots of food so try and hold off and have your lunch . The refreshment tent will be serving a choice of rolls, quiches, cakes and more this year. All the fair profits will go towards raising money for St Michael's Hospice Phoenix Appeal. One of the stalls will be selling donated CDs '“ all at 50p to £ 1, so a good time to stock on your viewing. Offers of union flags, bunting, CDs and other saleable bric a brac would be welcomed by the organisers. COACH TRIP TO LULLINGSTONE CASTLE: Sedlescombe and District Garden Society first coach trip of this year will be travelling to Lullingstone Castle and World Gardens in Kent on Wednesday May 18. If you would like to join them please contact Rod Eldridge on 01424 870983 for further information.

The Manor House and gardens are set in the beautiful village of Lullingstone, east of Dartford. There are many areas of interest to explore within the large estate. The trip includes a guided tour of the interesting Manor House which has been in the same family for centuries. The church sited within the grounds is also very interesting and a visit to the world garden is strongly recommended. Why not join us in what promises to be a great day out.

SEDLESCOMBE‘S GOT TALENT: Tickets are now on sale for this great line up of local talent for you to enjoy on Friday May 20 in the village hall . Get yours now at Sedlescombe stores at just £5 each. A licensed bar and hot food will be available to purchase during the evening. Come along, encourage and enjoy some real local talent that will be competing for the £100 first prize along with runner up money prizes too. We are pleased to announce our three experienced judges for the event will be Mrs Paula Batt, former mayor of Battle, Rev. Kevin Mepham and a master of treading the boards himself , Malcolm Tegg. COME AND SEE “TOM JONES”: Sedlescombe Players present an 18th century bawdy romp! Henry Fielding’s ‘Tom Jones’ as adapted by Jan Macalpine, is described as one of the most perfect plots ever planned. Tickets are now on sale, the prices are, Tuesday June 14, £10 without supper. On Wednesday 15, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 are £16 including supper. There will be NO performance on Thursday 16. As usual, seating will be at tables of eight and the performances will be in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. ST MICHAELS HOSPICE OPEN GARDENS 2016: This week the garden of Mountsfield House, Rye Hill, TN31 7NH is open by kind permission of Lord and Lady Ampthill along with The Stables garden . This Tuesday May 17 from 10.30am to 4pm. Entrance is just £4.00 which then gives you access to both. Refreshments will be on offer.Asselton Cakes from Sedlescombe are once again, the supplier of cakes, for the whole season. Booklets, with details of all the gardens open in the surrounding area in aid of St Michaels hospice, are now on sale at the Sedlescombe Stores. The season runs from the beginning of May until August with one additional garden open in October. A minimum donation of 50p is requested for the booklet. For all additional details please consult your booklet.
