JUMBLE SALE: The Friends of Sedlescombe church hold their annual jumble sale on Saturday October 31 at Sedlescombe village hall from 2pm. This is always a popular event in and around the village where you can come and find that useful item you have been looking for. We are appealing for all your unwanted items, clothes, books, bric a brac, anything that could be sold to help the Trust. Please start to collect your goods together which can be donated on the morning of the sale , please do not deposit at the hall before the date as there are no storage facilities available for it or if you would like to move it on now, for collection please contact Pauline on 01424 870412

PESTALOZZI QUIZ NIGHT: Come and join in Pestalozzi’s first Cultural Quiz Night and International Supper on Thursday November 12. There will be five rounds of internationally-focused questions and a bonus ‘Artefacts’ round for that extra chance to win. A maximum number of 6 people per team; smaller parties can be accommodated , but please note you may be teamed up with other groups as well. All attendees will receive an internationally-themed supper prepared by the Pestalozzi staff and students. Tickets are £10 per adult . EARLY CHILDREN PESTALOZZI PROJECT: I had a call recently from Len Clarke who co -runs the Early Children Pestalozzi project with William Eiduks, asking if I knew any information regarding “Michael Drury”. Len had seen his photo on the Sedlescombe website and was hoping to make contact with him as they were at the village together in the 1960’s. Does this name mean anything to you? The Project, the pair have undertaken aims to recover the European and early Tibetan children’s story, as far as possible, through oral history recordings and other related research. They hope to provide a legacy for the former children of “the Village” and for their descendants. In the gathering of this story, they will not only demonstrate what a remarkable experience it was but also constructively present this information for the benefit of other relevant research.
