PUTTING ON TH RITZ EVENT: The hall was transformed last Saturday when Sedlescombe and district flower club committee members took it over, to serve an elegant afternoon tea and sandwiches, home made cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam to more than 60 patrons. Waitresses, Janet, Karen and Norma were “nipping” around in their black and white outfits, to great aplomb. There were beautiful flower arrangements, as you would expect, made by five of the members, decorating the venue, these were raffled at the end of the afternoon and hopefully are now bringing a smile and brightening homes in the area. Mr Hugh Davison skillfully played his keyboard and entertained with music from a bygone age to complete the scene. Although all the committee and their families were involved in the event I’m sure they would want to thank our Chairman, Sheila Benson for all her time, organisation and attention to detail before, during and after the event.

If you love flowers and think you would like to know more about the club then please contact Sheila on 01797 223927or Janet on 01424 773708.
