CHURCHYARD CLEARING: Can you spare some time this Saturday to help to keep the churchyard tidy? St John the Baptist Parish Church are having a churchyard clearing morning of overgrown plants etc. on February 21 from 9.30am. Tools and gloves will be limited so if you can bring your own it would help. Refreshments will be provided. Let’s pray for some good weather to make things easier for everyone too.

SEDLESCOMBE SCHOOL VACANCY: SCHOOL CARETAKER REQUIRED (to include Swimming Pool (Learner Pool) Operator during the summer months. We are a small, village, Church of England Primary School looking for a committed, reliable, flexible person who is friendly and can work well with staff and children. The right candidate will have good DIY skills so can carry out a range of small repairs and will share our pride in our school, wanting it to be the best that it can be. Duties will include all aspects of the general maintenance, security, health and safety of the school, including supervision of cleaning staff, Swimming Pool Operator (training and support available), key holding and first responder to alarm call outs. The successful candidate will join our friendly and welcoming team of staff and be a valued part of our warm, caring school community.

MEET YOUR CANDIDATE: Huw Merriman, the recently selected Conservative Parliamentary Candidate and your local County and District Councillors Angharad Davies and Tony Ganly will be holding an open meeting in Sedlescombe Village Hall on Saturday February 28 from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All residents are cordially invited to meet Huw and ask him any questions you may have. Refreshments will be served.

SEDLESCOMBE HALL AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Sedlescombe village hall management committee will take place on Thursday March 19 in Committee Room 2. the quarterly management committee meeting will take place at 7.30pm followed by the AGM. Everyone is welcome to take part in the election process and to stand for office. Just turn up and play your part in the running of the village hall.

SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT GARDENING SOCIETY: Their next event is a speaker session in Sedlescombe village hall on Tuesday March 10. The talk this time will be titled “Clematis Through the Seasons” and given by Everett Leeds. It will start at 2pm and refreshments will be served.

THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB QUIZ NIGHT: The friendship club will be hosting a quiz night on Friday March 20 at Sedlescombe village hall. If you are interested in forming a team and taking part or for further details please contact Ralph Dellow on 01424 870223 . All proceeds raised will benefit the Friendship club.
