DECEMBER ART SHOW: This weekend Friday December 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7, an opportunity to see the work of Sedlescombe artist, Mark Fisher and six other local artists when an explosion of art is on offer this December at the Powder Mills Hotel. A wide variety of style and subject matter, wildlife, architecture, landscape, cityscapes and portraits, impressionistic, abstract, figurative and photorealism. Each artist creates extraordinary and captivating art executed in a variety of media including acrylic, watercolour, pen and ink, oil and mixed media incorporating textured surface, metal and collage. PESTALOZZI INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE: Christmas time, mince pies, mulled wine and much more this Saturday December 6 from 11am to 3pm. You are invited to go and celebrate the festive season with Pestalozzi students, staff, volunteers and supporters at Swiss Hall, Pestalozzi, Ladybird Lane, Sedlescombe, TN33 0UF. Entry is free and there will be the opportunity to indulge in a tasty seasonal lunch, grab a mug of mulled wine and sing along to Christmas carols. Browse the stalls of the Christmas Market for unique gifts for your loved ones, have a winter walk around their beautiful estate and if you are lucky, you might even win one of their super raffle prizes which include a £200 cash prize, a Bush 20inch HD Ready television and a luxury Christmas hamper.

ST JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH CHURCH: This Sunday December 7 the family service will be Christingle starting at 10.30am, everyone is welcome to attend and capture the spirit of Christmas as the season starts.

PRESENTATION: There will be a presentation to Jenny and John Mainwood at the Village Hall on the December 12 at 4.00 p,m. Everyone is welcome to come and wish John and Jenny well in their retirement from Sedlescombe Stores and thank them for the many years of service they have given to the community here in the village. Refreshments will be available to all. Please do not forget to sign the memory book which is available on the counter in the village shop along with a bucket for waiting for any contributions you would like to make towards the presentation.

CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT: Chapel Hill United Reform Church, will be hosting their Christmas Carol concert on Sunday December 14 at 3pm. Reverend Andrew Birch will be in charge of the proceedings and all are welcome to attend this joyous event. Refreshments will be served during the afternoon. VILLAGE CHRISTMAS PARTY: Friday December 19, there will be a Christmas party for the older residents of the village in the hall from 5 to 9pm. Entertainment from Sedlescombe players and musicians will be on offer, plus games and Father Christmas will be paying a visit. Let’s not hear anyone complaining that Christmas is just for children at this point! There will also be a delicious turkey buffet with refreshments served all for the ticket price of £2.50.
