SEDLESCOMBE STORES: We say farewell to John and Jenny Mainwood as they look forward to a well deserved retirement after seventeen years working for us in the village. They have not just provided us with great service but have always been the hub of the community, created a great central meeting place for us all to go to and always generously supported all the village organisations throughout the years. They will be missed from our daily routine as we go for our papers including the Battle Observer, loaf of bread , pint of milk and all those other essentials supplied to us but at least they have not gone far so it will be possible to continue seeing them around the village as they enjoy some time together just for themselves. There is the opportunity to contribute towards something to mark their retirement, if you like to then please make any donation to the collection at the shop counter. In their place we welcome to Nicholas and Joanna Johnson and their young family who have recently taken over as the new owners of the village shop and post office. We wish them well in their new venture here in Sedlescombe and hope they will come to also love their life here too.
