MOBILE LIBARARY: The mobile library service from Bexhill will be in the village on Thursday October 16 parked in Park Shaw from 10.50am to 11.25am with a return visit on the October 30.

FASHION SHOW: There are tickets now available for Thursday October 16 when there will be a fashion show by Catwalk Connections.at Sedlescombe village hall. This company have visited the village before and proved very popular with the audience, following the show which usually features local ladies, day and evening wear outfits will be available to purchase. Tickets are priced at £8 from Karen Dann on 07850775331 or at the school gate. Light bites and a bar will also be available. The fun starts from 7pm for 7.30pm. All profits will help Sedlescombe primary school.

QUIZ WITH FISH SUPPER: There is still time to enter a team in the Quiz night taking place at the village hall next Friday October 17. This will be the final l themed event in celebration of the SDGS 70th anniversary year The Quiz will be general knowledge but featuring music from the last 70 years, with a fish and chips supper served in the interval. Please note, so that the catering can be finalised, please reserve your tickets by Monday October 13, there is also a limit on the total number of places available. Teams of 6 are invited to come along, but if you can not find a complete team, do not despair, we will create a team with others to make up the numbers. Tickets are £7.00 per person and non-members would be more than welcome. We will provide the condiments and cutlery for those who don’t want to use their fingers, all you need to bring with you is a pen and your own liquid refreshments. JUMBLE SALE: The annual jumble sale organised by the Friends of Sedlescombe Church Heritage Trust will take place on Saturday November 1 in the village hall. Time to start thinking about clearing your cupboards and wardrobes, if you have items that you would like to donate please put them aside for the cause. Collection of jumble will be available from the beginning of October. For this service please call 870722.

SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT GARDENING SOCIETY: The Garden Society’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday November 7 2014 at 7.00 p.m. in Sedlescombe Village Hall. The official proceedings will be followed by a talk on “The Trials and Tribulations of Growing Vines for English Wine” by Neil Mortimer a local farmer of grape vines.
