Sedlescombe Rangers have their annual Christmas Draw taking place at the Queens Head on Sunday December 15 , have you bought your tickets yet? There are always a magnificent array of wonderful hampers donated by each football team up for grabs in the draw alongside prizes from the Brickwall Hotel, the Queens Head, cases of wine and many more. Tickets are just £1 each available from the village shop and the pub, so do not miss out on this once a year event. Talking of the Queens Head, it is looking truly magical at the moment with its lights shining out in the darkness of these winter evenings, alongside Sedlescombe Stores and the Clockhouse, the village is looking splendid for the festive season.

You are invited to join the children from our primary school as they carol sing their way around the village on Thursday, December 19 between 7 to 8pm, meet them on the green at 7pm to sing with them , they will then make various stops before finishing around 8pm in the Queen’s Head Pub. All money collected will be to benefit St Michaels Hospice

On Friday December 20 the village community and friends of the school are invited to enjoy coffee and mince pies from 9.45 to 11.00am in the school hall, where the choir will sing some carols to end the morning.

2014 may seem a long way off but preparations are well under way for Sedlescombe to celebrate Burns Night at the village hall on Friday January 31. The evening will feature music from Jiggery Pokery, a traditional music band , piping in of the haggis by John Ash, which you will then have for your supper, Scottish reading of the poet Robert Burns and of course, some dancing. A Licensed Bar will be available with a wee dram available if you should wish. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm, tartan and kilts optional. Tickets are just £10 and can be reserved by calling 870344 or 882438 or 870968 or purchased now from Sedlescombe Stores. Organised by the Friends of Sedlescombe Church Heritage Trust.

Congratulations to Derek and Monique Wright, who have worked so hard over the past eighteen months to achieve this prestigious award.
