Not so many events in the village at the moment as we all enjoy the good weather and the summer holidays although it will not be long before we shall hear the children making their way to school again, just a few weeks away now.

Over the bank holiday weekend this Sunday August 25at St John the Baptist Church, Sedlescombe there will be a Pimm’s and hymns evening from 6pm to 7.30pm. This sounds an uplifting event as a celebration of summer, you are invited to join in with the choir in singing your favourite hymns chosen by you on the night and accompanied by Lily Linden as organist. This is not a formal but fun evening of hymns for everyone and all are welcome to attend. There will be no charge but donations would be most welcome.

There are still tables available at the quiz night on Wednesday August 28 7pm for 7.30pm at Sedlescombe village hall,

Sedlescombe Green WI will be hosting this fun evening to include a fish and chip supper, tea or coffee at just £6 per person. Get together your family, friends and neighbours to make a a team of six. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and glasses, so that should help with answering the questions . Please phone Margaret on 870808 to book your team in now.

Along with their Sunday services held every Sunday at 10.30am, United Reformed Church, Chapel on the Hill at Chapel Hill Sedlescombe TN33 0QX will be hosting a “Christianity Explored Course”. This is an informal seven week course for people who would like to investigate Christianity or just brush up on the basics. It will be on a Tuesday evening commencing on September 3. This should prove an interesting experience for those taking part and that could include you, as all are welcome. Refreshments will be available during the evening.
