Are there any volunteers out there who could advise or offer some practical help with sorting out the Sedlescombe Pre school outside play area at the village hall? Everything is starting to look worn out and needs some love and attention. They have limited funds available to achieve this but all the children enjoy playing outside and the surface is causing them all to trip over. Please contact Claire Ronald on [email protected] if you think you may be able to assist or would like some further information. Just think how you could save their little knees and they could save on plasters!

All user groups of the village hall will now have had an email from the chair requesting that they send representatives to come and assist with the work party taking place at the hall on Thursday, August 22 starting at 9.30 a.m. The programme is to clear the user group and general use cupboards and contents in the kitchen, to inspect and, where possible, repair the chairs and clean the tables. Meanwhile, the hall manager, Dave Brabants will be cleaning the chairs that need doing and on the following day he will also clean the floor. Each user group is responsible for cleaning out its own cupboard. This cannot be done by anyone else as only the user group holds the cupboard key. Therefore please ensure that your group has someone to attend. Many hands make light work and if everyone puts in an hour or so the job will be done in a morning. Tea and coffee will be available.

It was slightly disappointing to see the photo coverage that was printed last week in the Observer of the summer fayre, Steve Kilmartin took some fantastic photos of the Princesses, BMX action, K9 group in action and others , but there obviously wasn’t space to print all these too. If you would like to access to view these though, please contact me or [email protected] to obtain the link.

Despite the weather in the region of £900 was raised during the afternoon, this will be distributed to groups around the village later in the year at the Sedlescombe Societies’ Association AGM.
