This Saturday June 22 there will be a Summer fair at St John the Baptist church, Sedlescombe from 12noon to 4pm.

There will be lots of stalls including plants, books, tombola, bric a brac , games for the children, teas, refreshments and home made cakes to buy. So much effort goes into these types of events and is the essence of village life so please make some time this weekend to support their day.

Last chance this weekend to visit the studio at The Den, Meadow Lane, Sedlescombe, TN33 0RF. Tony Wynne, bespoke stained glass and fused glass artwork and Mark Fisher, drawing and painting. Landscapes, seascapes, portraits are taking part once again in the Sussex art trail event. Open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 21 to 23 from 11am to 5pm. Next weekend Sedlescombe C E Primary School have their Strawberry Fayre on Saturday June 29 from 12noon till 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend this family fun filled day out. They have some fabulous side stalls, bric a brac, dvd and books sales and children’s toys. There will be a Barbeque running all day and can all be enjoyed with an ice cold Pimms. The refreshments are usually fantastic with of course strawberries and pavlova to enjoy. There will be lots of side attractions going on to keep everyone entertained, these include the fantastic Water Walkers in the School pool, Laser Storm, Karate Demonstrations etc. along with the usual activities such as face painting, nail art and tattoos and a variety of games for all age groups to enjoy.

There will be a competition running for the Flower Princess that will be held during the day for children between the ages of 5-11yrs. There will be a prize for the winner and the opportunity to ride in the Vintage Car parade at the main Sedlescombe fayre and flower show later in July. To finish the day there will be the drawing of an excellent raffle, fully supported by local businesses and including £100 Raffle. Come and enjoy the fun and support your local school. Everybody is welcome with 50 p entrance fee.

If you have children between the ages of 6 to 8 and they are looking for “fun and Friends” Westfield Scouts still have a few vacancies in their Beaver Colony. This is the nearest group to us in Sedlescombe so why not think of giving it a try? They meet on Tuesdays during term time from 5 - 6pm. Get to know the area and get fit at the same time, Rye and District Association of the National Trust have a walk on Tuesday June 25 centred on Icklesham. To join, park around Main Road junction of Oast House Road. It will be a circular walk to the Royal Oak Pett, 4 miles out, 3½ back. The St Michaels Hospice Open garden for this week is on Tuesday June 25 at Tidebrook Manor, Tidebrook, Wadhurst TN5 6PD Entry ticket is £4 and it will be open to visitors from 10.30am to 4pm raising funds for this good cause.
