The next monthly Coffee Morning and Mini-Market, sponsored by the Parish Church, takes place in the Village Hall on Thursday 6 June 2013 at 10.00a.m to 11.30a.m. As well as coffee and a scone, there will be stalls selling cakes and jams etc, bric-a -brac, books, plants and bird food, Church post cards and notelets, a raffle - and, for 50p, a chance to be weighed. As always, you will be made very welcome

There will be a Fayre on the Green and in the gardens of the Queen’s Head on Saturday June 8 starting at 1pm. ’Happy Graham’, a diverse entertainer will be there at 1.30 to amuse the children and hopefully the adults as well. Once more the children from the school will be dancing around the maypole or should that be June pole at about 2.30pm.Their will be a barbecue organised by the chef from the Queen’s Head and refreshment tent situated on the Green outside the Brickwall Hotel which will be very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the sunny weather that has been ordered this time. There will be many of your favourite games including the old favourite ‘splat the rat’ for the children and for adults, that is if they have fast reactions. Many local organisations and craft stalls will also help to create the day with something for everyone. The proceeds form the fayre will go to The Hospice, the British Heart Foundation and any money remaining to local good causes so please mark your diaries to give your support on the day.

Audience tickets are now available for our very own Sedlescombe’s got Talent” evening on Friday June 14 at Sedlescombe village hall. We have an array of singers, dancers and other talented performers ready to entertain you on the night. Our very friendly panel of three will be there to encourage and support the contestants. Tickets cost just £5 and are available from Sedlescombe village stores or by phoning 870968. Hot food and a licensed bar will be available during the evening not to mention a super raffle on the night. Organised by the Friends of Sedlescombe Church with all profits donated to the renovation of our Parish Church so please offer your support and come along.

If you or you know anyone who would like to take part in this unique event, it is not too late to register as there are still a few spaces available, please remember there is £100 first prize to be won and no entry fee, so please call Jean on 882438 or Anthony on 870722 now for further details.

Sedlescombe Players. Have you managed to buy your tickets yet? The Players are producing a farce, ‘Cash on Delivery’ in the Village Hall on June 19 to 22 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £9 on Wednesday and Thursday with no supper and £14 on Friday and Saturday with supper. Saturday is virtually sold out and only a few tickets are left for Friday, tickets remain available for Wednesday and Thursday, so do hurry. You can ring the box office on 01424 718059 or pop in to a Monday rehearsal in the hall at 7.30pm. Members will also be at the Fayre on the Green on June 8. Not to be missed for an hilarious night out.

Rother Neighbourhood Watch have an event this Saturday June 1 at Brede Village Hall, Cackle Street, Brede, TN31 6DX at 10.30am for 11am. It is your chance to meet Katy Bourne, the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, together with Charles McIlwrick, MBE, Chairman Rother Neighbourhood Watch and Carolyn Randall from Sussex Crimestoppers. Learn more about the work of Neighbourhood Watch, Crimestoppers and the PCC in your area and have the opportunity to raise any matters that concern you. Refreshments will be available.

Sedlescombe CE School has now fixed the date for their annual Strawberry Fayre of which is Saturday June 29 from 12pm to 3.30pm. This is a great family day and all are welcome. Make a note in your diary so that you don’t miss out on a great day. They are also looking for outside stall holders to come to their fayre to make their event interesting for all. If you would be interested in having a stall then they would love to hear from you. A table can be provided if necessary and the charge is £15 per table. The St Michaels Hospice Open gardens for this week are on Tuesday June 4 at Little Common .Seven gardens will be open for you to view in the area with 57 Barnhorn Road TN39 4QB hosting stalls and refreshments so a good place to start and buy your £5 entry ticket to tour all . All will be open to visitors from 10.30am to 4pm raising funds for this good cause. For further details full programmes are available in Sedlescombe Stores.
