This evening, Friday April 26, the Garden Society will be having another speaker. Dr Peter Gasson will give an illustrated talk entitled “Behind the Scenes at Kew Gardens”. As the evenings are at last getting lighter, this talk has been arranged for a 7.30 p.m. start, so those of you who have to work, will have an opportunity to join us. Admission is free for members but non-members are always welcome at £2.00 per person.

This Saturday April 27 there is a jumble sale in Sedlescombe village hall in aid of church funds. Doors open at 2.30pm, all are welcome to come and grab a bargain. there is still time to donate any items on the day by bringing them to the hall prior to the sale, for further information please call 01424 870808 for collection Thank you

Please note there will be no usual mini market at the village hall on May 2 due to the local elections being held there, don’t forget to vote, instead there will be a coffee morning at 2 Forge Cottages , The Green. Tea, coffee, biscuits and the usual cakes, preserves, raffle and a bring and buy. Call Margaret for details on 870808

Lets hope this spring weather keeps holding as there is to be a Spring Fayre on the green on Saturday May 11 from 1pm. Many stalls from local village groups and crafters along with games will be on offer for your entertainment. There will also be a Tea tent serving sandwiches and cakes throughout the afternoon. No entrance fee so please just come and spend to help raise funds for St Michaels Hospice, British Heart Foundation and local village charities. Do you love to entertain? The Friends of Sedlescombe Church Heritage Trust are hosting the show “Sedlescombe got Talent”. Then come and be part of the show to be held in Sedlescombe village hall on Friday 14 June from 7pm. Two years ago, when it was last held, there was a wealth of talent that came forward to compete for the £100 first prize. £100 again is on offer to win and you don’t have go live in Sedlescombe, anyone in the area is welcome to enter. There is no entry fee but limited spaces to give everyone a fair chance to shine on stage. Our sound engineer and stage crew are waiting to hear from you so for further details please call Jean on 882438 or Anthony on 870722. Nearer the date audience tickets will be on sale, a licensed bar and food will be available on the night with any profits raised from this event going towards the major church renovations now taking place so please mark your diaries to either take part or come along to enjoy the evening.
